A second original portrait from our studio of the mother of Benedictine women. On their last evening together St. Scholastica begged her brother Benedict to stay and speak of God a little longer; when he refused for his rule's sake, she prayed, and a storm kept him till dawn. “She could do more,” he admitted, “because she loved more.” Three days later she died — her last request granted by heaven directly.
