A second original portrait from our studio of the shepherdess martyr of Gaul. Disowned by her pagan father and set to mind sheep, St. Regina refused a powerful marriage for the love of Christ and went to her death rejoicing. The great pilgrimage town of Alise-Sainte-Reine still bears her name — the lowest place, freely chosen, became her throne.
