St. Mary of Egypt, Desert Mother - Poster Print

A second original from our studio of the desert's great penitent. St. Mary of Egypt fled her old life into the wilderness beyond the Jordan and lived there alone for forty-seven years, until her sins had burned away to pure flame. When the monk Zosimas found her at last, she walked on the water and knew the Scriptures she had never read. The desert had made her a saint.
