She was barely out of girlhood herself when she began teaching the poor children of Lovere, and dead at twenty-six — but in those few years St. Bartolomea Capitanio lit a fire that has not gone out. With St. Vincenza Gerosa she founded the Sisters of Charity of Lovere, and gave the older woman the work to carry on. Some lives are short and complete.
