In 1373, gravely ill and expecting to die, a young woman of Norwich received sixteen showings of the love of God, and lived to spend the rest of her days walled into a cell beside a church, pondering what she had seen. She became the first woman to write a book in the English language, and out of that hidden place came the most hopeful sentence in English devotion.
All Shall Be Well keeps Julian's sixteen Revelations as a sixteen-day retreat. Each day sets her own medieval words beside a short reflection for today, a line to carry, a question to sit with, and a prayer.
